Matcha Latte Recipe: Creamy, Energizing & Antioxidant-Rich Green Tea Drink


Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp matcha powder (ceremonial or culinary grade)
  • 1/4 cup hot water (not boiling, about 175°F or 80°C)
  • 3/4 cup steamed milk (or oat milk for a dairy-free option)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for an iced version)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Matcha – Sift the matcha powder into a bowl to remove any clumps. Add the hot water and whisk using a bamboo whisk or milk frother until smooth and frothy.
  2. Steam the Milk – Heat the milk until warm and frothy (or use a frother to create a creamy texture).
  3. Combine & Sweeten – Pour the steamed milk over the whisked matcha. Add vanilla extract and sweetener if desired. Stir gently.
  4. Serve & Enjoy – For a hot latte, serve immediately. For an iced latte, pour over ice cubes and stir.
